National Egg Day Omelette Week! Quiche Lorraine

Hi, everyone! Welcome to the final recipe of Omelette Week!  Today we have two of my favorite egg dishes, the omelette and Quiche Lorraine.  The reason I love Quiche Lorraine, and it's not because it's my middle name, is because of all the rich flavors of the pie crust, Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and eggs, then a pop of freshness from the asparagus.  The quiche is another one of my favorite dishes to make, and I hope to make on on the blog soon. Until then, this omelette is great for the flavors of a Quiche Lorraine in a hurry.

Ingredients!

  • Standard Omelette Recipe
  • 1 Slice of Ham
  • 1/4 cup of Mushrooms, Sliced
  • 5 Asparagus Spears
  • 1/4 cup of Swiss Cheese
  • 1 Pie Crust

Directions!

Make pie crust. I used an air fryer to bake mine and it only took seven minutes. If you are using an oven, use the directions on the recipe or package of your pie crust.

Tip!

For this recipe, you don't need the whole pie crust, but if you do choose to make the whole one, you can get some cinnamon sugar and roll the crust in it, making a delicious dessert!πŸ˜‹

Cut the asparagus, ham, and cheese into bite- sized pieces. If you have shredded cheese, you don't need to cut it.

Cook asparagus until you're able to cut it with your spatula.  While you are cooking the asparagus, mix eggs, salt, and pepper together with a splash of water.

Add ham and mushrooms to asparagus and cook until all are cooked.  Set aside in a bowl.

Add egg mixture to pan. Cook until the egg whites are no longer jiggly.

Tip!

I use cooking spray for my pan in all of these recipes. I tried butter to see how it turned out. Here are the results!

Butter
Cooking Spray

I like the cooking spray better because it can give more coverage to the pan. The butter is harder to get all over the pan, and sometimes still sticks.

Add cheese and steam. If you have just shredded, you can add the cheese with the other ingredients. I added cheese earlier so it could melt more before I added the rest of the toppings.

Add the rest of the toppings to the omelette.

Fold and plate. Add pie crust and enjoy!

This was the last, but definitely not least, omelette for Omelette Week!  If you think this omelette is the best one, remember to comment, share, or view more than the others, and come back to see the winner on Sunday, June 3, National Egg Day!🍳πŸ₯šπŸ΄πŸ–πŸ„
